Sometimes real life seems fake, and this dog certainly fits into that category. If you’ve never seen a dog snoring before, you’re in for a surprise. This particular pup looks so silly while sleeping that you might imagine you’re actually watching Pluto the cartoon dog. That’s why the viral TikTok video posted by yowritten has the internet in stitches while watching the hilarious beastie.
We all know dogs love to sleep, but this one might be the king of it. The video opens to show a large pooch lying down in his favorite sleeping position, deep in slumber. On-screen text says, “Bro sleeps like he’s in a cartoon.” As the camera zooms in we get to watch his jowls move every time he breathes out. In addition, you can hear the distinct sound of a snoring dog, almost as if he were in a movie.
Commenters thought the video was hilarious, but most saw a piece of themselves in the happy pup. “School: *starts at 8* me at 7:59,” said WhyMeTabalt, who certainly captured the mood. Deep down, we probably all wish we could sleep as deeply as this canine.
Others tagged someone in the comments to insist they, too, snore this loudly and perfectly.
Finally, Ruby certainly told the truth: “I’ve been laughing at this for 5 minutes straight. I’m crying.”
Why do dogs snore (and what can you do about it)?
If your partner were keeping you up all night with their loud snoring, you’d probably get them a sleep study. But dogs can’t wear a CPAP, so what is there to do? Just as in humans, there are a few different reasons that your animal might snore.
The most common cause is extra weight, so if you hear a lot of Zs coming from your four-legged friend, it might be time to put them on a diet. However, if you know that Fido doesn’t need to shed any pounds, there are other possible sources of dog snores. These include allergies, sickness, and sleeping position. If your buddy just happened to lie down funny one night, you could hear a couple of honks and then never again. No need to investigate in that circumstance. Also, some breeds, like bulldogs and pugs, nearly always snore because of their mouth and head shape.
However, after you think through all of the possible causes, you might want to take a trip to the vet. They’ll be able to listen to your dog’s lungs and see if Fido might have a cold or seasonal allergies. Either way, some helpful meds could clear the snoring right up.
While it can be difficult to get any sleep lying next to an animal that snores loudly, it certainly gives us something to laugh about.
